Founders
Kayla Breytenbach
Kayla holds a Bachelor’s degree in Language and Culture, majoring in English and Applied English Language Studies. She furthered her studies by completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. Working primarily with high school learners, Kayla’s tutoring approach is both intentional and flexible, adapting to each learner’s academic needs. Drawing on her experience in high school education, she also helps learners develop effective exam techniques. Kayla is passionate about the English language and the way it shapes thoughtful readers, writers, and communicators. Through engaging texts, discussions, and writing activities, learners grow their vocabulary, strengthen their comprehension and essay writing skills, and develop confidence in expressing their ideas clearly and creatively.
Anke le Grange
Anke is a Foundation Phase teacher who is currently pursuing an Honours degree in Foundation Phase Education. She values play, curiosity, and exploration as powerful drivers of learning, drawing inspiration from Loris Malaguzzi’s view of children as capable, active participants in their own learning. In her tutoring, Anke combines this exploratory approach with explicit, systematic phonics instruction to help learners build strong foundations in reading and writing. Through focused one-on-one lessons, she aims to support young learners in developing essential literacy skills, while continually learning from her learners themselves in order to refine and deepen her teaching practice.
